What can you expect to learn?

The Bronze Medallion is the cornerstone of lifesaving training offered by Royal Life Saving. The certificate equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and physical fitness required to perform aquatic rescues, respond to emergencies, and contribute to water safety in their communities. It is widely recognised as the minimum standard for lifesavers and lifeguards in Australia.

Course duration: 4 hours

Delivery Mode: Face to Face

Pre-requisites: Being previously awarded with a Bronze Medallion Certificate.

Duration of the Certificate: The Bronze Medallion and the Resuscitation Award are valid for 12 months.

    • A reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability

    • Recent / current Bronze Medallion award or an equivalent award

    • Bathers, towel, warm clothing if required

    • 400m Swim:

      • 100m freestyle

      • 100m breaststroke

      • 100m survival backstroke

      • 21 multiple choice

      • 9 written questions
